Maria Morano & Taylor Kaminski

Maria Morano began coaching basketball at St Bede CYO in 2001 with the intramural program for kindergarten through 3rd grade kids.  11 years later, she still donates her time to coach the intramural basketball program every Saturday morning to help teach and develop the next crop of great St. Bede’s basketball players.

Maria began coaching JV basketball at St Bede’s in 2004 for the boys program. She coached JV boys for two seasons.  The boys team had an undefeated season and won the year-end tournament.   In 2006, Maria began coaching the cadet/ 4th grade girls CYO team.  In 2007, Maria coached both the 4th grade girls team and the JV girls region team at St Bede’s.  She is the current coach of the St Bede’s JV girls region team.  Her teams have won many division and tournament championships and have been in the region CYO championship each and every year.

Maria also coaches travel and AAU basketball.  She began coaching AAU basketball in 2007 for the Wildcats, remaining with that program and winning numerous championships for two years.  In 2008, she began coaching Langhorne travel basketball and Shamrocks AAU basketball.  For the past two years, her Langhorne travel team was undefeated in the Central Jersey league and won two league championships.  Her current Langhorne team is undefeated in both the Central Jersey league as well as Division 1 ICBA league.

Maria is committed to teaching the fundamentals of basketball and the importance of team play. Win or lose, it’s important to play quality basketball.  She stresses hard work, commitment and perfect practice.  She strives for her players to become fundamentally strong players at both ends of the court, and hope to give them the foundation they need to enjoy great success in high school and college level play.

Taylor Kaminski

Taylor has been volunteering her time as commissioner of the Somerton Intramural 5-year old clinics for the past 7 years.  Each year, she develops stations, recruits student-athletes to serve as coaches and coaches a team of her own.  She has also made several guest appearances as coach of various travel teams over the past 2 years.

Taylor currently plays basketball at Archbishop Wood High School and has garnered THREE CONSECUTIVE PIAA Class AAA championships (2010, 20110 & 2012) as well as a PCL Championship in 2011 where she scored the winning basket on a drive with just 3 seconds left in regulation.  She is a recipient of the prestigious Markward Basketball Club Award and was named 2nd team All-Southeastern PA, 3rd team All-Catholic, and was selected to play in the UCP All-Star Labor Classic in her senior year.

Taylor looks forward to transitioning this spring from an AAU player to an AAU coach with the magic as she prepares for the next phase of her basketball career at Bloomsburg University.
