Bernie Rogers
Bernie Rogers is in his eleventh season as the head basketball coach at Archbishop Ryan. His 150 overall wins make him the school's all-time winning-est coach.
In the Rogers era, the Raiders have won nearly 70% of their Catholic League games; an incredible feat. They have made the playoffs every season but one, reached the Catholic League semifinals four times and the championship game twice. He has had 21 players selected All-Catholic and was named the Catholic League coach of the year by the News Gleaner in 2001 & 2007, and by the Philadelphia Daily News in 2002 & 2008.
Bernie, a '92 graduate of Ryan, was voted All-Catholic as a player in both his Junior & Senior seasons and still remains the school's all-time assist leader. He then went on to play college ball at Ursinus where he was a four year starter; leading the team in both scoring and assists for four straight seasons. Bernie is a teacher in the Philadelphia school district and resides in Somerton with his wife, Kim, and their five children. In 2010, Bernie coached the 9U to a bronze-medal finish at the District Qualifying tournament, and the team earned a bid to Division 1 Nationals.
