2010 Results

Congratulations to the Magic 12U on their success at  Division II Nationals in Rochester, Minnesota!  The team went 3-0 to win their pool with three deciding victories over the NJ Sparks, Minnesota Stars, and New Hampshire Flames.  They then advanced through bracket play to the Elite Eight, where they fell to eventual tournament champions, the LA Swoosh.   The team rebounded quickly from the disappointing loss to the Swoosh with a tough win over the Winston-Salem Stealers and an all-out war with the NJ Sparks to earn 5th place medals finish with an overall record of 6-1 for the tournament.

Mid-Atlantic Magic 2010 DQT Results!

The 9U went undefeated in pool play and advanced to the semi-finals, where they lost a tough game to eventual tournament champions Lower Delco and then defeated Fencor 18 - 17, the winning basket coming with just 18 seconds remaining in the game.  The team earned bronze medals and a bid to Division 1 Nationals in Missouri.  The 10U team made it out of a difficult pool to advance to the semi-finals as well, where they lost a heart-breaker to a formidable Comets team, the tournament runner-up, followed by a tough loss to Lower Delco in the 3rd place game.  Their 4th place finish earned the girls medals and a bid to Division 1 Nationals in Orlando.

The 11U went 1 - 2 in pool play with a win over the tournament's overall third place finisher, the Collegeville Jaguars.  Though the team did not advance to bracket play, they played three very competitive games and should be proud of their accomplishments.  The 12U team advanced from pool play to the quarter finals, where they defeated a very tall, athletic Mid-Penn Motion team 74-64 to advance to the final four in what is arguably one of the toughest regions in this age division.  Their semi-final defeat came at the hands of the tournament champions, the West Chester Sparks, the 7th ranked team in the country, and their medal finish earned them a bid to Divsion 1 Nationals in Minnesota.

The 13U team went 1-2 in pool play at the Division 2 level, suffering defeat at the hands of the tournament champions Delaware Angels and a 2 point loss to the Northeast Rockers.  Though the team did not advance to play Sunday, they should be proud of their accomplishments and their growth as a team throughout the season.  The 14U team finished 2nd in their Division 2 pool, and won their first game in bracket play to advance to the quarterfinals, where they were defeated by the tournament champs, Fencor.  The 15U team finished 2nd in their Division 1 pool and advanced to the bracket play quarterfinals, where they lost to the tournament champions, the Comets.

Best of luck to all former, current and future Magic players as they progress through their grade school, club and high school seasons.   Our diverse program is fortunate to draw players from far and wide throughout Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs.

2009 Highlights

The 14U team were exposed to national competition and college coaches from around the country when they attended the D1 National Championship Tournament in Roanoke, Virginia.  They earned their bid with a hard-fought overtime win against a strong Philadelphia Belles team at the Belles SRT in April.  This team also earned medals for a 3-1 finish in the Renegades Summer Rumble, winning their pool.

The 13 Wright team also finished their season in Virginia, as they reached the final four at the D3 National Championship Tournament in Hampton, Viriginia.

The 11U wrapped up their season at the US Junior National Showcase in Hershey, PA with a strong 4-1 performance in pool play, narrowly missing the opportunity to advance to the Championship.  Overall, the team finished with a record of 24-10, with 9 losses to teams attending and performing well in National Championship Tournaments.  This team also earned medals for going undefeated in the Renegades Summer Rumble.

The 9U team received fourth place medals and a bid for D1 Nationals with their performance in the 2009 Middle Atlantic Championship Tournament.  They also were proclaimed Renegades Summer Rumble champions for their 4-0 record at their last tournament for the 2009 season.
