2012 March Madness - Click here to enter The 2012 March Madness Fundraiser will begin Sunday, March 11 and pools should be entered by Thursday, March 15 at 11:30 a.m. Last minute entries that are e-mailed must be received prior to the start of the first tournament game on Thursday, March 15. Any entry received after that point is invalid. We ask for a donation of $10 per entry, and each player must sell at least 10 entries. For ease of collecting these donations, it would be beneficial if each player collects a paper copy of the en try with the donation prior to the start of the tournament. Entries should be done electronically through the web site; however, assistance is available for the computer-illiterate. Those of you in this category are free to scan/ e-mail your entries or drop them off at Somerton Wednesday, March 14 between 7 – 9 p.m. (or at Miller’s Ale House Thursday, March 15 after 11:30 a.m.). When entering the name of the entrant, please type the last name of the player and the grade level in parentheses after the name, for example: ex. John Smith (Young 8) Each completed paper entry should have the name, e-mail address, and phone number of the entrant and the name of the player who sold it. For the purpose of breaking a tie, each entry should also include a prediction of the total number of points scored in the championship game, regardless of its participants. Entries are scored as follows: Round 1 - 1 point each correct
winner Round 2 - 2 points each correct winner Round 3 (Sweet 16) - 4 points each correct winner Round 4 (Elite 8) - 8 points each correct winner Round 5 (Final 4) - 16 points each correct winner Round 6 (Championship Game) - 32 points for the correct champion. In the event of a tie, the entrant with the point total prediction that is the closest to the actual total points scored in the championship game is the winner. “This fundraiser is for amusement only, however, the winner will receive 1000 points, 2nd place will receive 300 points, and 3rd place will receive 200 points.” We will utilize an online bracket manager this year that you can access using the following web address: http://www.marchtourney.com/madness/site566937/index.php. DO NOT ENTER ANYTHING INTO THE MAIN BRACKET ON MARCHTOURNEY.COM – ALL ENTRIES SHOULD BE ON SITE 566937. Initial standings will be available after the first round – please allow a day or two for all last-minute (and the pools of the computer-illiterate) pools to be entered into the system. Questions?
