2020 Tryouts
Below is the 2020 tryout schedule, check back often for changes. It is our intention to have two teams at any age group where both numbers AND talent dictate. Grades 7th thru 11th will be competing in the Hoop Group Showcase League. This league will give our teams top competition and premium start times and courts, allowing for optimum showcasing of our players in front of college coaches.
ALL TRYOUTS ARE AT SOMERTON YOUTH ORGANIZATION, 1400 Southampton Road, Philadelphia PA 19116.
4th grade tryouts: Matt McDonald (St. Albert's), Mike McDonald (Archbishop Wood)
SATURDAY, 2/8/20 at 4:30-6 p.m.
SUNDAY, 2/9/20 at 6-7:30 p.m.
5th grade tryouts: Ryan Hohman (Pennsbury Lady Falcon Elite coach and director)
SATURDAY, 2/1/20 at 6-7:30 p.m.
Once the 5th grade BLUE team is chosen, there will be another tryout (TBD) to pick the members of the GOLD team.
6th grade tryouts: Gregg Sylvester (Magic Founder), Marissa Sylvester (University of Sciences)
SATURDAY, 2/1/20 at 7:30-9 p.m.
SATURDAY, 2/8/20 at 6-7:30 p.m.
7th grade tryouts: Dave Wisniewski (Long time HS and youth coach)

8th grade tryouts: John Gallagher (St. Basil Academy), Meg Gallagher (DeSalles University)

9th grade tryouts: Fran Young (Magic Founder), Matt Carroll (Upper Moreland HS), Wendy Young (AB Wood)
