Registration Information
Mid-Atlantic Magic Basketball strives to make AAU basketball affordable for all families so that every player has an opportunity to play and succeed. To that end, we will do our best to work out a flexible payment arrangement to any family in need of one.
What is the registration fee?
The registration fees for 2025 season for Girls Grades 5th and 6th is $595. 7th grade thru high school girls showcase teams will have a $675 registration fee, however there MAY (sometimes the March Madness fundraiser is enough to cover those costs) be a second payment based on additional showcase tourneys, travel and other expenses to be paid mid-way through the season. That fee structure covers any remaining costs of additional showcase tournaments and will be explained after the last tryout to the team, but if you have questions about how it works, email Fran Young at [email protected].
What does my registration fee cover?
The registration fee covers the first 5 tournaments the TEAM competes in, insurance, gym rental, practice uniforms and equipment. Teams often compete in more than 5 tournaments, so fees for additional tournaments will be deducted from the team fundraising account or collected from the families once the extra cost is calculated. Coaches expenses for overnight tournaments and National/ exposure events will also be deducted from the team account. Players expenses should be fundraised or will be paid out of pocket by the player's family. Some of these expenses may include hotels, flights, and meals.
How does registration work?
Players must have a completed, signed registration form at the first tryout. The registration fee is due once the player accepts her spot on the team.
The registration fee should be paid in full at that time; however, flexible payment arrangements can be made by contacting Fran Young at [email protected]. The Magic is committed to providing an opportunity to all players to be able to participate. Players selected to a team who opt not to play at any point in the season are not entitled to any refund.
What about uniforms?
Players will have the opportunity to order uniforms at paperwork night. A complete uniform set generally runs between $80 - $90 and consists of a reversible jersey, reversible shorts and warm up. Practice uniforms are included in your registration fee.
What about fundraising?
The Magic has one organization-wide fundraiser each year in March. This simple but popular fundraiser will be explained once the teams are selected. Each player is expected to raise $100 for their team account through this fundraiser, and those who opt not to participate are still obligated to submit $100. Any other fundraising is done at each team's discretion and goes directly into that team's account.
Why don't I get ANY refund if I don't like the team my daughter makes?
Players who make a team and then opt not to play will not receive a refund of their registration fee. This is to help discourage the practice of players committing to teams and taking a roster spot from a player who was not selected, then leaving after we've already turned away other players.
Is there a discount for families with more than one player in the program?
We are happy to offer a discount to families with more than one registered player. Contact Fran Young for more details at [email protected] or by phone at 267 918-9651.
